Ann Crain
A lifelong resident of the Chesapeake Bay region, born in the small
fishing village of Wachapreague on Virginia's Eastern Shore, Ann
draws her inspiration from the personal connection she feels to the
peaceful waters of the Bay, its rugged cliffs, and gentle breezes.
Ann's work reflects the local landscape as well as distant and diverse
places such as Carces en Provence, France,
Caye Caulker, Belize, and Stockholm, Sweden.
Ann continually refines her creative senses by merging color, line and
figure. She often paints without specific subject matter, and
integrates special materials to generate powerful artistic statements.
Her art conveys an obvious mood through creative use of
color and paint application that forces viewers to draw upon their own
imaginations.
